Jakarta, 26 August 2022. PT XL Axiata, Tbk (XL Axiata) together with Viamo Indonesia (Viamo) and the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) of the Republic of Indonesia through the Directorate General of Public Health collaborated to launch Tanya321 service. With this service, the public can access official health information from the government and related international organizations, 24 hours a day, through WhatsApp application. The ceremony for the launch of this service was carried out by the Director General of Public Health of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, dr. Maria Endang Sumiwi, MPH, Country Director of Viamo Indonesia, Patrick M Compau, and Chief Corporate Affairs of XL Axiata, Marwan O Baasir in Jakarta on Friday (26/8). It is hoped that this service can be an effort to improve communication, information and education in supporting government programs through the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia.

XL Axiata’s Chief Corporate Affairs, Marwan O Baasir said, “We are very pleased to be collaborating with Viamo Indonesia to support the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia by implementing cellular technology to provide Tanya321 health information access services for the Indonesian people. This collaboration is also a tangible manifestation of our efforts to support the innovation movement from providing digital information that is inclusive and can be easily accessed by XL Axiata customers, most of whom are also active WhatsApp users.”

Marwan added, the selection of the WhatsApp application as a forum for disseminating information is very relevant, because in Indonesia there are more than 80 million WhatsApp users in 2021 (source: Statista, 2021). Therefore, the dissemination of official information from the government can also be facilitated with this service so that the public can access official government general information without having to download additional applications. The public can simply contact Tanya321 via WhatsApp at 0819 – 0819 – 2 – 321 or at the link bit.ly/tanya321.

Through Tanya321 facility, the Ministry of Health provides official health information services. Not only information on COVID-19 and vaccines, the public can also access information on maternal and child health, the Healthy Living Community Movement (Germas) and healthy lifestyles, mental health and education on other diseases.

“This collaboration is a form of further steps to provide important information needed for the community. We present Tanya321, WhatsApp Chatbot which contains vital information that can help people protect themselves and their families, how to prevent stunting, and fight other diseases such as COVID-19 and so on.” said Patrick M Compau, Country Director of Viamo Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, dr. Maria Endang Sumiwi, said, “We are very happy because through collaboration with XL Axiata and Viamo Indonesia, now the Ministry of Health’s means of accessing information makes it possible to reach the widest possible Indonesian people. The launch of Tanya321 service is in line with the transformation of primary services that is being carried out by the Ministry of Health to strengthen preventive promotive activities, one of which is by providing education to create more healthy people, improving health screening and increasing the capacity of primary services.”

Maria Endang also revealed that Tanya321 Service is present as a form of effort to fight misinformation and hoaxes by presenting official information such as health information from the Ministry of Health.

This collaboration is a continuation of the collaboration program in May 2020 by launching the 321 hotline service, where all XL Axiata customers can access a variety of daily news and important information such as health, agriculture, weather and many other information from all types of mobile phones, including simple mobile phones. More than 430 thousand callers have accessed this service and heard more than 280 thousand important messages that can improve people’s lives. It is hoped that this service can support the government’s programs through the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia in disseminating various matters relating to public health.
