We are Viamo
With Viamo, NGOs, government agencies, donors and businesses can communicate directly with the people they intend to reach via mobile. We make your transition to digital easy.
Our Story
We believe everyone deserves access to information to be able to make well-informed decisions, large and small.
Nearly 3 billion of us remain unconnected, hard to reach by traditional media or even the internet. This means too many of us don’t get the information that helps us reach our full potential. Don’t get our voices heard. Our markets and economies developed. Viamo has found a way to change this.
We give people access to information to improve businesses, governance, health and education. And we do it in the way that suits our users best. Through voice, on their simple mobile phones, at the moment of their choosing, in their own language.
Tailored to their individual needs, with the opportunity to be heard as well. This is not a one-way street, this is a conversation.
Our human-centered design always starts from the community perspective. Out of respect for our users. Respect earns trust, and with trust comes responsibility. Being reliable matters to us.
We create scalable campaigns with immediate data feedback. For organizations that want to have a direct, positive impact. We use digital technology, data science and a sophisticated mobile platform to do it.
And we do it so all of us can thrive.

Sally leads Country Managers in managing relationships with mobile network operators, designing and developing projects with partners, and growing the use of mobile tools for isolated populations.
A respected leader and experienced development professional, Sally brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Prior to co-founding Viamo, she served at Marie Stopes International where she was instrumental in setting up country programs all over the world, including the surplus-producing Mexico City program and MSI Burkina Faso, delivering effectiveness on national health indicators within the start-up phase. She also oversaw MSI’s well-established program in Malawi, which serves 1 million clients annually with 500 employees. She later advanced to the position of Deputy Regional Director, providing strategic support to MSI programs in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Vietnam, protecting 8 million couples from unwanted pregnancies each year.
Sally holds a bachelor’s in European studies and modern languages from the University of Manchester in the UK.
David began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in a village in Gabon, after which he served as Country Director for an American non-profit focused on public health in Rwanda, a year after the genocide. In his role, he led the implementation of private sector distribution channels and commercial marketing techniques to increase the use of public health products and services. David found the gap in providing access to life-saving and life-enhancing information and products and services for communities who were not yet online, yet had simple mobile phones and a desire to connect. From the recognition of this unmet need, David partnered with Louis Dorval and Mark Boots to co-found Viamo.
David holds a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Chicago.
