A recent USAID report highlights Viamo’s use of digital tools to improve and sustain food and nutrition security for vulnerable populations. We supported Girma Niger with on-demand approaches in partnership with Catholic Relief Services. We co-designed and distributed agriculture, gender, nutrition, and WASH key messages, including them on the Viamo Platform. We also developed an automated weather forecast and alert system for drought and severe weather and deployed a dynamic market price system.
These interventions were also made available on demand and for free to callers to remove barriers to adoption. In addition we sent targeted livelihood information in the form of audio lessons to youth and other groups. A feedback and accountability hotline was also established by Viamo in order to monitor the program’s implementation and close the feedback loop with users.
